Well, I know that the US M3 combat knife was also in use by various other armed forces and armies, equipped from US surplus stocks.
France was also among them.

France did not only use the US M3 combat knife in the Second World War, but also in Indochina, and later in Algeria, Tunisia, as well as in African theaters of war where French units were in the field.

Watched a video of the Battle of Dien Bien Phu (French Indochina) today.
Including a sequence of a French paratrooper immediately after landing in the operational area.

He appears to be carrying an M3 combat knife on his belt.
