    They're not my area of expertise either! I'd assume all M3 knives produced for the military were stamped with the flaming bomb, as firearms were, but don't know for sure.

    All my M3's have flaming bombs and I think this was a standard for all 9 makers. I have 8 of the 9. US firearms did not always have a flaming bomb. The 1911A1 only had the ordnance wheel as an example.

    Some OEM M8 scabbards are found with a smooth greenish faced (just one side) leather thong. Best Regards, Fred
