    Default US M4 Bayonet Imperial

    Hello everyone

I recently purchased this US M4 Bayonet, wartime manufactured by Imperial with M8A1 scabbard, 1950s manufactured by Victory Plastics. It has three strange X marks under the cross guard which I've not seen before, anyone seen these before?. I picked it up fairly cheaply compared to what these usually go for.

    Any comments welcome.

It is a very decent WWII Imperial bayonet, the X's look to be done with a file. Maybe just by someone as identification or with access to a file and too much time on their hands. Who knows when as most of them had a long service life.

Thanks John, I was thinking the marks looked "home made" and probably sometime after its official service life.
