    Hello,
I have recently inherited my grandfathers(usmc) footlocker which has given me a lot of questions. I know a fair amount about his service during ww2. His older brother(Jack Nugent) who died at 45, was able to join the war effort earlier due to his age. He served in the Army and I know absolutely nothing of his service. I don't have his unit or service number. I know the times I asked my grandmother about him, I was told he saw combat in Europe and arrived via ship. That doesn't really narrow it down much, but it's something.
I'm also looking for information on my great grandfather(mothers side) who I know even less about-pilot Mark Jackson who died on a combat flight christmas eve during the war. It effected my grandmother gravely and she never recovered. This was almost never discussed in my family and has led to many holes in our history. I can't say how much I appreciate any help in gaining insight.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

    Hi Jesse.

    Welcome aboard.

When you start your thread add as much detail as possible, eg - Dates of birth/passing, places of birth/passing etc etc. The more information the better.

    Kind regards,

    Will.

    Welcome Jesse,
You got me intrigued. Look forward to seeing your newly acquired collection and seeing what we can glean of your ancestors service.

Can you get their middle names and where they came from? That would help. Also any old photos in uniform.
