Ethan I agree I was honestly surprised the owner told me when I asked if it had pictures or paper work to back it up. He told me it was found in a warehouse along with other military ww2 items. If it had paper work and pictures it would be a true one of a kind piece to own.

Well, I would say it is a case of maybe - maybe not. Very difficult to judge. A real matter of subjection. However, I would say that I would not pay anything like that price tag or even want it anyway without bombproof provenance and then maybe but for much less green!

Even if proven as a period piece remember that; not everything is collectible just because it was "there".

Worth a punt at $25.00. Even if fake it would look good with a D-Day type display.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Our new member played it well. Asking before purchasing.

But there will be someone who walks into the shop and buys it

One could also ask the vendor, if it is a French sign surely it ought to be Bruxelles? Shows how closely I looked first time, sorry.
