Hi Kirk. The first pic is just about north of Rene - on
New Britain. Second is 1948 on Saipan, third is a
Bill Mauldin, and last, repairs in the field.
Yeah, I can't wait for warmer weather either ! Indeed
we've been colder and set some records for this
time of year. This past few days we were at -23
Celsius with windchill making it around -30C.
I know you are still on the Farenheit scale.
-23C is like -9F.........!

Steve.
Sad news about my CJ. My nephew (hot rod/custom
builder and old car fanatic) while checking her over
at his shop, discovered (among other things)
that I have a broken frame, which had been
broken and repaired once before.
She'll need major work and about $5,000 to bring
her up to road worthiness again, so back into
the garage she'll go.
Shame really, because "Froggy" now looks like
you could get in and drive her away.
New pics to follow in a few days.........

Steve.

Lol, the '42 MB should run - battery fully charged this week.
Fingers crossed ! ( That's the thing about these vintage
jeeps, there's always a leak somewhere, and an older
component that might cause problems. )
Hope the temperature gets to 70 degrees for you Kirk.
There's nothing like a jeep ride in fair weather.........!

Steve.
I remember, back in the early 60's, they used to advertise "Surplus Jeeps $65". I never believed it, so I went down to a sale one day outside of Chicago. They had a field of, maybe, 150-200 Jeeps. Everything from WWII to Korean-era. And, yes-they were, indeed, your choice for $65. I took a walk down the rows with the guy there and Every one we passed, he'd have a comment.."Cracked block"..."Locked up gear box"..."No brakes"..."Frozen axle"....in the end, there wasn't One Jeep that would have been practical or affordable to pick up and fix. Never did get one...
