2cm Flak 38 Gunners Shield

Article about: Not a long restoration job this time, just a small piece of armour from the Flak 38 that I acquired a couple of months ago. This style of shield was used in conjunction with the Linealvisier

    Looks like there is a decent amount of original paintwork left on that one... are you going to strip it all off?

    Yes I will be stripping off the paint. There is more rust than can be seen in the pictures.

    what was the issued color of them?

    Not sure of the issue colour, I would say field grey as there are traces under the sand and the armour and bracket are shown in a copy of a manual I have which is dated 1940. Will have to have a more detailed look when I start it's restoration.
