Hi Chaps, A mate of mine has this optic; but neither of us is sure of it's period or nationality. Is it WW2 German? It's 31cms long & marked cme with 36349 on the top.
Cheers,
Richard.

Hi Paul E, It's only marked cme with 36349 below it on the top. At least that's all I could see. It looks like it is German as the cme mark is the same as on the thread - ground dug mg optic stalingrad. I'd still like to know what it's from though.
Cheers,
Richard.
"cme" would be the German code 1939-45 for the maker Gebr.Wichmann Berlin. A manufacturer of drawing equipment and surveying instruments.
Hope this helps
Also, there are no markings on the lenses; but it looks like the smaller one should have something screwed into it. Cheers, Richard.
Thanks JMB.
Could be part of some Gun position survey equiptment !!
