I once bought a broken track link winter tooth at auction (I don't know what you call it correctly, sometimes we call it a winter spur)
His condition was terrible and so I bought it for 50 cents.
    Please see what happens

"Any pictures of it painted my friend?"

Have you painted the finished track link?

    Any pictures of it?

I think I understood the question about painting the caterpillar link
Are you wondering if this has happened in historical practice?
Indeed, the main tracks were not painted
But the spares, which were located around the tower, were painted quite often in camouflage colors so as not to unmask the tank on the battlefield
Let's pretend I was rebuilding a spare track.
I will add a photo of a couple of my tracks with pz 4 on which the original paint remained (they were attached to the armor as additional protection)

This neat relic just arrived in the mail today.

This is 'or rather what's left of' the forehead protector / eye cup assembly from a German panzer. I believe these were used in a variety of panzers, but I know for sure they were used in the Panther and Tiger I. According to the relic hunter who recovered this example, this was found near the small town of Priekule in Latvia. The first photo shows the location of this part from the gunner's seat area of the Tiger I.

That's another great piece Lufty, I doubt many of those head protectors have survived.

Some nice markings on the back too.

    Very interesting piece

    Congratulations on this wonderful purchase!
Now this item needs proper care and storage conditions.
Keep tires out of direct sunlight
Rubber ruptures can be glued together with car glass sealant.
Take care of this item, there are very few of them left in the original, and even more so from the tiger tank !!!
(that's why I don't like rubber relics - with their appearance comes a big responsibility for their preservation)

I didn't know that Evgen, always thought rubber would last for decades...

Better keep this out of the sun too.. my Panther antenna.
