Hello Everyone,
Can you ensure me or not if it's original badge of 7th PAP ?
Thanks a lot in advance !
Hi 11bz,
I am in agreement with jaxmon that this is probably a copy.
The light reflecting off of the badge seems to show an uneven ‘bubbly’ surface to the enamel. Poor enamel work is not typical on the meticulously crafted officer grade badges made in Poland before the war.
The spinner looks like a genuine item, although Adam Nagalski is not a recognized maker of this regiment’s badge. My references state Gontarczyk, Reising, and Grabski as official producers. The spinner has been added to this badge at some point. As you probably know, adding genuine spinners to reproduction badges is one of the oldest tricks used to trip up collectors.
Regards,
Tony

Here is my great uncle's Warsaw Officer’s Engineering School badge (Thanks to A.J. Zawadzki for the help). Made by Wiktor Gontarczyk, the spinner is a replacement.
The crown was removed as he fought in Polish People's Army.
Time to add something up...
Hello All,
I picked this Sienkiewicz badge up as part of a grouping a week ago. I had my suspicions about this one, which was backed up by our resident expert, Mr. T.
However, I have not been able to find any examples of this badge, save for Stela and Sawicki. I went to the Polish Army Museum yesterday, and they didn't even have a copy!
That being said, I am surprised that this is stamped out of bronze, including the nakretka (which can be found on 689 of Sawicki). This may not show up that well in the attached photos, but it is in my humble opinion, well made and stamped.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Anyone ever seen an original?
Cheers,
Brandon
