Tony - Have you ever seen one in person ?? I wonder how many may have passed through as just 4th class V-M's gold plated.
I did not see any mention of it in Stela's books ??? The gold value alone ??? Nice Find !!!
Tony - I stand corrected The Gold Moscow V-M is in Stela's book 1943-46 edition pp84 Valued at 8-10,000 Euros.
Hi Robert, no, I’ve never actually seen one live in person. The cross weighs 32.95 grams of “high karat” gold. So that would be just about a troy ounce of the precious metal. Even though I don't collect communist era items, this is one VM that I wouldn't turn away.
