Default 1st Ind. Heavy Machine Gun SQ. Service Dress

    Hi Guys,
A service dress of 1st Ind. Heavy Machine gun Squadron.
The beret doesn't belong to the uniform (other rank), but it's a genuine WW2 one, made by Lock & Co.
The S.D. belonged to Henryk Lawrynowicz.
A nice detail is when I purchased the uniform I found the Heavy Mach. Gun pocket badge secured to the uniform with his dogtag!

    Cheers,
    Marc

Hi MichalMag, not all service dress jackets have the fob watch pocket. I suspect this was an optional extra? Some of mine have them while others do not. (None are Polish though)

Hi Marc, great jacket. The dog tag is a very nice touch.

    Cheers, Ade.

Most of the Service dresses I have don't have the pocket for the watch either.....
It has a label inside, named to the officer, dated 1944.

    Cheers,
    Marc

    Hello Marc,

WONDERFUL tunic !! The nice clear pictures of the various elements taken under natural light are appreciated.

As far as the watch pocket – I agree that it’s most likely an optional upgrade.

Many thanks for your contribution Marc.

    Regards,
    Tony

Actually, those are the type I like to see on genuine period 1st Corps tunics, with the larger font text, thinner fabric and more subdued red backing fabric. Very different from the “surplus” ones floating about the marketplace and finding themselves on put together tunics.
