Certainly no expert in this field
and at first glance all seemed well
but looking more carefully one disturbing sign..
a bubble on the para insigina on the right
bubbles are usually a mark left by an air bubble in rubber moldings..
the only way to be sure would be to take exact measurements
as usually pieces made in rubber moldings are usually smaller that the original
I am fairly sure these are bad too. I had a fake pair and the backs looked just the same. The paper glowed....
Cheers, Ade.
Are originals die struck? If so, then one would expect both insignia to have the same "bubble" or imperfection? If they were cast then I would think a "bubble" might well appear in some castings and not on others.
There is a similar but indented "bubble" in the other insignia photo.
Would one use a rubber mould to cast in metal and not plaster of paris such as used by scultptors creating foundery moulds for bronze castings etc.

For the reference – the ones from my collection - source – a person who in the past was co-author / lead-writer of “spadochron”
Collars bought in 2001
No “bubbles”
This seller is most likely not aware some of those problematic details and may have had purchased this set “as is”
On something else
I apologise for the “white cut-outs” – but – I would like to contribute to making obstacles to counterfeiters who I believe are visiting this forum routinely learning details.
I am so upset looking at some of the stuff recently offered in the market via ebay and “private transactions” that I am seriously considering giving up collecting
