I am very grateful for the comprehensive information you've provided. My field of interest is Russian and Soviet awards for foreigners, but British awards for foreigners look interesting as well.
And I'm not really sure if it was luck or misfortune, wrongfully entering maximum bid as 25000 instead of 2500

Hello Konrad,
Many thanks for posting the OBE awarded to Plk. Jan Grajkowski, this award was recommended on the 3rd July 1945, I am amazed that it took 4 years to find itself to him, no doubt it got stuck in the system.
Plk. Jan Grajkowski was born 4th December 1897 and died on the 12th April 1965 in London
He was also awarded the Cross of Valour with 2 Bars and the French Cross de Guerre with Palm.
Best wishes

Hello Valerii,
Many thanks for your post, I came across the following for Stanley Drobysh :
NASHUA — Stanley Drobysh, 92, died Thursday, June 12, 2008.
He was born March 26, 1916, in Nashua, the son of the late Walieryan and Salomeja (Tokarz) Drobysh.
He was raised in Merrimack and graduated from Nashua High School.
Mr. Drobysh retired from Nashua Corporation after 39 years of employment.
The widower of Antoinette "Toni" Drobysh, his wife of 61 years who died in December of 2007, he is
survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Suzanne Carlson, of Chino Hills, Calif.; Elaine and Ken
Draper, of Nashua, and Anita and Bob "Beetle" Bailey, of Stratham; seven grandchildren, Richard and
Scott Carlson, Patrick, Kyle and Katie Draper, Erin Canterbury, and her husband, Mike, and Meredith
Bailey; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Emily Canterbury; one sister, Helen Thompson, of California,
and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by one brother, Marian, and three sisters, Agnes Banuskevich, Bernice O'Donnell,
and Sophie Wilson.
WE REMEMBER: He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving with the 1st Air
Commando Group, reaching the rank of master sergeant. He flew the wounded to safety from Burma to
India, and was proud to have saved so many lives.
As a squadron leader, he was twice awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the highest award given to a
pilot, and was recognized for distinguished service by the King of England.
In recognition of his military service and because he was a native of Merrimack, the Southern NH Eagles
Radio Control Airplane Club named its field in Merrimack the Drobysh Patterson Field in 2001.
He especially loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing, camping
and gardening. He and his wife served for many years as National Forest volunteers at Campton
Campground in Thornton, offering assistance to campers and visitors from May through October.
He was a lifelong member of the Merrimack Historical Society; a member of St. Christopher's Church
parish, and a former member of the Retired Craftsmen Association.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, in St. Christopher Church,
62 Manchester St., Nashua.
Interment prayers and burial will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
I have searched both the National Archives and the London Gazette with out finding anything listed for him.
Best wishes
Andrzej
