Many thanks for your post, unfortunately I was not able to find much at all nothing about his death at all, but what I did find is listed below:
When awarded the Monte Cassino Cross the recipients details were as follows:
Rank : Starszy Strzelec (Lance Corporal)
Surname : MIKA
Christian name : Jan
Date of Birth : 1908
Army Number : (also found on His ID tags): 1908-67-III
Unit : 3rd Carpathian Division Material Park
Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 8910
I also found out that by the end of the war he was a Kapral Pdchr. (Corproal Officer Cadet)
