    Mjr Józef Wawrzyniak, Army Number: 1910-5-III, Unit: 3 KPAPpanc. (3rd Anti-Tank Artillery Regiment), 3 DSK, MCC Nr: 1973, also awarded the Virtuti Militari Silver Cross and KW x2

    He was awarded the VM 5th Class for transporting heavy cannons to Hill no. 324 from which it was possible to fire German positions and the monastery hill at Monte Cassino.

    Rank : Kanonier (Artilleryman/Gunner)

    Surname : Wojcieszonek

    Christian Name : Michał

    Date of Birth : 2nd February 1914

    Army Number : 1914-91-III

    Unit : 7PAPpanc (7th Anti Tank Artillery Regiment)

    After the end of the war he came to the UK married in 1949 in Wrexham, later on Moved to Leeds were he died on the 29th November 1992.

    Plk.lek.Dr. Tadeusz Mieczysław Sokołowski was born on the 28th January 1887, he served in WW1 in the Polish Legions and after the end of WW1 served in the newly created Polish Army .

    April 1936 Plk.Lek.Dr. Tadeusz Mieczysław Sokołowski (standing 2nd from the right front row in uniform)

    After the defeat of France in 1940 he came to the UK and served at the Paderewski Hospital in Edinburgh until 1942 when he had a disagreement with the Administrator of the Hospital, he left and was posted to the 2nd Corps.

    His Service Number during the Italian Campaign was : 1887-200-III, he served in the 1st Military Hospital in Italy and after the end of the War in Europe came with his Unit to the UK and in 1948 he went back to Poland where he died on the 21st January 1965, 7 Days short of his 78th Birthday.
