    Hello Valerii,

Many thanks for your post, I have been able to find the following information for you :

    1) Leon Lajczok, when awarded the Monte Cassino Cross his details were as follows :

    Rank : St.Strz. (Lance Corporal)

    Surname : Lajczok

    Christian Name : Leon

    Date of Birth : 1912

    Army Number : 1912-19-III

Unit : KGL2BSK (Headquarters 2nd Carpathian Rifle Brigade)

Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 7998

By the end of the war he had been promoted to Kapral Pchor. (Corporal/Officer Cadet).

    2) with regards to Jan Mazur, the only Recipients awarded the Monte Cassino Cross with the same Names where born in 1898, 1900, 1909, 1912, 1913, 1915.

I have looked through the Polish Army Database online and the Kresy-siberia website as well as the Index of victims of soviet repression also without any luck in finding him listed.

So I suppose 1 out of 2 is not that bad.

    Best wishes

    Andrzej
