    Hello Konrad,

Many thanks for your post, I have searched through the Register and have found 2 Henryk's both born in 1909

    1) Plut. Henryk Michalak, Born 1909, Army Number : 1909-190-III, Unit : 10BSK, Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 39297

    2) Sierz. Henryk Michalak, Born 1909, Army Number : 1909-136-III, Unit : P4Panc., Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 29348

I have searched the following websites also :

    1) Polish Army Records

    2) Index of victims of soviet repression

    3) Ancestry

All with out finding a trace of him, there was only 1 Michalak killed during the Italian Campaign and that was Tadeusz Michalak.

The only way of finding out what happened to him would be for his relative to contact the British Ministry of Defence Records Section and see if they have him listed, before they pay for the service.

That is all that I can offer you Konrad.

    Best wishes

    Hello Colin,

Many thanks for your post numbered 4338, I have looked through the Register without finding any listing for Aleksander Prokopowicz, 1906-53-III, so either joined after Monte Cassino or later on.

So in 1939 either a Regular or Reservist in the Polish Army, Fathers Name : Piotr

The only other bit of information that I was able to find was his Marriage to Annie Hart in Sheffield in 1968.
