On my list I had a footnote so went looking through my photo's, not speaking Polish I have never completely understood this.

It concerns living soldiers:

249. Next to the name of Lieutenant Konrad Hykiel there is a note to correct the "2nd Karpacki Pułk Artylerii Lekkiej" to the "3rd Karpacki Pułk Artylerii Lekkiej".

When awarded the Monte Cassino Cross his details were as follows :

After the end of the war in Europe he came to the UK with his Unit and settled down to civilian life, he died in the Middlesex Hospital on the 12th July 1966 aged 60.

strz. Michal Grecki
Born: 1923
army # 1923/474/III
military unit: 5bsk
Looks like he sent letters to his homeland
in Belarus from the UK, but for some reason coudn't find
some death or probate records about him anythere.

May be he changed his surename to Wojciechowicz(or it can be the last name of the house owner) or kind of consonant with Grecki?

Many thanks for your post, Konrad has stated all the information that I was able to find on Michał also no record of his death.

More than likely joined the 2nd Corps after Monte Cassino or after the end of the war.
