    Many thanks for your post, I have checked the Register and the Regimental History and he is listed in both.

    When awarded the Monte Cassino Cross his details were as follows :

    Rank : Kapral (Corporal)

    Surname : Górski

    Christian Name : Alojzy

    Date of Birth : 29th April 1913

    Fathers Name : Marcin

    Place of Birth : Bydgoszcz

    Army Number : 1913-59-III

    Unit : 1st Squadron P4Panc. (4th Armoured Regiment)

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 29156

    By the end of the war in Europe he had been promoted to Plutonowy (Lance Sergeant) and awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit with Swords.

    That was all I was able to find for you Colin.

    Was he decorated with the Monte Cassino Cross?

    Many thanks for your post, I have looked through the Register and although their are 2 Władysław's Listed, I think I have got the correct one.

    When awarded the Monte Cassino Cross his details were as follows :

    Rank : Sierżant (Sergeant)

    Surname : Sawicki

    Christian Name : Władysław

    Date of Birth : 1905

    Army Number : 1905-13-III

    Unit : KGL1BSK

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 12362

    I came across the following whilst surfing yesterday :

    Monte Cassino cross

    Szer. Ignacy Bramowicz Driving Licence detail.

    When awarded the Monte Cassino Cross his details were as follows :

    Rank : Szer. (Private)

    Surname : Bramowicz

    Christian Name : Ignacy

    Date of Birth : 1st March 1907

    Fathers Name : Józef

    Place of Birth : Wilno

    Army Number : 1907-126-III

    Unit : 386PL (386th Signals Platoon)

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 41250

    Szer. Ignacy Bramowicz was wounded later on in 1944, but survived the war and returned to Poland where he died on the 27th December 1976 in Olsztyn.

    Rank : Porucznik (Lieutenant)

    Surname : Hołyński

    Christian Name : Kazimierz Wiktor

    Date of Birth : 3rd November 1903

    Army Number : 1903-82-III

    Unit : 3KBSap. (3rd Carpathian Engineers Battalion)

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 1352

    He survived the war in Europe and came to the UK with his Battalion, Kazimierz Wiktor Hołyński died on the 2nd July 1981 in London.
