    The Monte Cassino Cross Numbered 32186 when awarded the Recipients details were as follows :

    Christian Name : Czesław

    Date of Birth : 1925

    Unit : 9 Wysunięty Szwadron Dostawy Czołgów (9th Forward Tank Replacement Squadron)

    Monte Cassino Cross numbered : 32186

    It was after the Battle of Monte Cassino that he transferred to the 4th Armoured Regiment and became a Panc. serving in the 3rd Squadron of the Regiment, by the end of the war in Europe, he had been awarded the Cross of Valour.

    Panc.Czesław Łuc came to the UK with his Regiment and after being demobbed from the Polish Resettlement Corps settled down to civilian life in a foreign land.

    In 1951 he married Brenda Robbins in Sheffield.

    In 1972 he applied for and was granted British Citizenship London Gazette entry in the 2nd May 1972 issue number : 45662, Page 5238.

    London Gazette entry for Czesław Łuc.

    No doubt the British Miniature medals belonged to his wife's father.

    Czesław Łuc died in 2006 in Sheffield.

    During the September 1939 Campaign he was a Plutonowy (Lance Sergeant) and instead of surrendering to the soviets his regiment crossed the Lithuanian Frontier, hoping to fight another day in France, but that was not to happenand when the soviets invaded Lithuania he was sent to Siberia and after the german invasion of the soviet union in 1941 was released on amnesty and rejoined the Polish Colours at Tatiszczewo on the 3rd September 1941.

    During the September 1939 Campaign he was serving as a Regular or a Reservist and was captured by the soviets in Monastyryska (which is now days in the Ukraine) on the 18th September 1939 and sent to Siberia and after the german invasion of the soviet union he was also released under amnesty and reached Tockoje where he joined the Anders Army.

    Jan Bzdęga Born 7th June 1911, Died in Manchester on the 3rd March 1997.

    He was the only one that I was able to find out of the three recipients.
