    aquaintance of mine selling off a few bits and pieces, one of which is this curiosity. translation of medallion wording equates to 1928 Polish Republic. from the workshop of W.BUSZEK. the four circular indentations may have contained jewels ? the lower right hand angle section has the initials WB followed by the date 1943. a jewellery item ? any ideas lads.

    For this element Polish coin from 2nd Republic period was used.
    Buszek was pre-1939 engraver. He continued the activity in UK where died in 1945.

    Hello prosty zolnierz,

    No need to prise it off, I found the following information so that all you have to do is measure the diameter of the coin :

    1928 : 5 groszy 20mm diameter

    1928 : 2 groszy 17.6mm diameter

    1928 : 1 groszy 14.7mm diameter
