    Hello Elzunia GO,

    Many thanks for your post, the only place that I know of is the PISM (Polish Institute and General Sikorski Museum) in London.

    You can either book a seat in the reading room when they reopen or pay £25.00p for 2 hours of research and a wait of up to 6 months or more especially after the Pandemic.

    Silver Cross Virtuti Militari Numbered : 9187 was awarded to Kapitan pilot Jerzy Zaremba, P-0723, Born 8th July 1909 in Równe between 1914 to 1922 his Family lived in Kiev then decided to return to live in Poland.

    In 1929 he attended the Polish Air Force School at Dęblin where he graduated 2nd in his Class in 1931, he then was posted to 133 Eskadra and during the September 1939 Campaign he was credited with a 1/2 kill of a HE111 and Probable 1/2 of a another HE11 and a 1/3rd of another.

    He was wounded during the Campaign and after recovering escaped from Poland to France reaching there in May 1940 he was evacuated to the UK and joined 306 Squadron he was promoted to OC A'Flight 306 and in 1941 was made Acting Squadron Leader.

    On the 14th August 1941 he was leading the Squadron on a sweep of the French coast when they where bounced by ME109's which shot down 3 of the Spitfire MKIIB's whilst 306 accounted for 2 ME109's.

    One of those lost was Acting Squadron Leader Jerzy Zaremba who was buried in the Dunkirk Cemetery.

    He was also awarded the KW (Cross of Valour) and the Air Force Medal and Wound Ribbon with one star.

    With regards to the above post, the auction has ended and achieved the following total :

    £3,200.00p

    which equates to the following :

    $4292.75 USD

    $5387.79 CAD

    17,389.25 PLN
