FAIRY BATTLE Generator?? 5u/187 type LX.

Im after a bit of advise guys if i may,
Ive had this generator knocking around for a few years now, and after literally tripping over it this morning thought id have another go at IDing it.

I have tried a few times in the past, but to no avail.
My last attempt at research (maybe a year or so ago) pointed me towards the Fairey Battle, but I now cant seem to work out how i came to that train of thought.

It is AM marked and store coded 5u/187 type LX and is 750 watt

Does anyone know if the battle had this generator? or any ideas on which aircraft did?

Hi Bananamafia - these were fitted to the Merlin engine. It's anti-clockwise though so not Spitfire. I am looking for one of these generators though if you want to part with it.

Just an addendum. Clockwise generators were fitted to Merlins, at least the early ones so yours isn’t merlin after all. Probably off a radial engine
