Authenticity of a Medical Crusher

This crusher has come up and some friends have been interested but we are unsure of it’s authenticity. I am aware these a pretty rare crushers so I would be greatful to hear opinions and extend my knowledge on this subject.

That's a tough one. There are things I like (from what the pictures let me see) such as the handsewn bill, the sweatband (which seems to be the Ersatz-type). I am not sure what concerns the insignia (if they are fake the whole cap is). I'm not sure whether this is medical-blue, in the pictures is looks too light blue, almost like Transport.

All in all - if this is authentic - it must have spent the past 80 years in a time capsule somewhere - looks like brand new at least inside. This could be possible, but I wonder how likely it is. I would have to have it in my hands to feel the "bowels" and have a look behind the sweatband etc.
Hopefully the specialists will chime in - they will see what I don't.

My concerns as well. Nothing scientific. I just get nervous when I see something so new looking.
