Just for good measure, here's a post-war DRK cap of the type worn (in this case, by yours truly) into the 1990s:









Earlier post-war caps were of a darker charcoal-grey color (as was the entire uniform) and had a functional turn-up flap, whereas the flap and buttons on these later caps are purely decorative.
