    Default Freikorps Cap

I need a little help from the experts on this cap. It's believable to me as a Weimar era Freikorps cap with the exception of the chinstrap which looks new in comparison and is of the SS type. Any help is much appreciated. thanks, Al

Hat itself is a genuine Weimar-era Carl Isken.
As to which Freikorps unit, I would lean Stahlhelmbund with a TK added.

Thank you, having looked through your reference threads it does appear to be Stahlhelmbund. You believe the TK is collector added, not period ? Any thoughts on the chinstrap? Thanks for your help.

I noticed the cap for sale aswell and i like the look on it. It seems period if you compare it to other caps from this era. The skull is an Assmann Tk. But im not really convinced yet. If you look close the dome of the badge seems a bit weird. It is shown in the catalogue from Assmann.

Goodluck, hope it turns out good.

Thanks Dos, I'm confident the Tk is authentic I'm just questioning whether it was added on after the fact to enhance the value of the cap. If it were Freikorps it would make more sense with the TK.
This thread is filled with images of TK's in use on Freikorps caps

Al, cannot say when the TK was added. I am unaware of any ShB units that wore a TK.
(there were plenty of other Freikorps units that did wear a TK).

Chinstrap is probably a replacement as you note.
