Stonemint already commented this cap. I did a quick search trying to find a picture of Brauchitsch in which he wears a cap with embroidered eagle. I couldn't find one - he seems to have been a fan of metal eagles. This doesn't mean that he didn't have one. I don't know too many Holters caps, the ones I know from this forum all have the Holters-logo under the sweatshield, none has the ErEl logo. The embroidered wreath sports a vented cockade yet there doesn't seem to be an air vent in the centerband. As this must be one of the earlier generals' caps (silvery badges) there should be one. Perhaps I am oversceptical but I have seen so many well-made fakes/repros which I would have taken as originals that I have reason to be very cautious.
A.M.--Unfortunately, this is a high-end Frankenstein from the 1990s.
It is a mix of original and repro parts.
AAG was a notorious dumping ground for fakes back in the 1970s/80s/90s (they went out of business in the early 2000s).
Sorry for the bad news.
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
it is not bad news.
The truth is awesome. I just want to learn. I have about 25 other visors and a few possible SS helmets, uniforms, daggers and an MP40.
Some are real and some are super cool and some are both. Ill give the fakes and Frankensteins to friends for fun.
Thank you for your hard-won knowledge.
Cheers,
Here is another one (cannot recall where these pics came from):
