Kriegsmarine Tellermütze

Hello everyone!

I've been on the hunt for a Tellermütze to add to my KM collection for a while now and i found this on sale here in Sweden. I don't have any prior experience with these but it looks quite good in my eyes. But of course any help would be really appreciated!

Hi,
I bought about the same some years ago as a fake. The price was more than correct (so why not!).
There are some variations (badges, ...) but the base cap is the same.

I reached out to the seller and the guy who sold it to him tells him that it's a typical KM cap and that 57K is a well known marking for these. Not doubting you Narcis i just want to know exactly what gives it away.

The seller is honest and will remove it once it's confirmed it's a BM cap.

I am not an expert, just want to tell my observation.
I see two completely different Kriegsmarine Tellermütze,different fabric different sweatband.
IMO, yours has a good chance to be a good one.
I was waiting for further opinions or you contact Mr Stonemint.

Good to hear. When i take a closer look i agree, looks like 2 completely different caps both in material and sweatband. I've contacted Stonemint and hopefully he can solve the case

I asked the seller what the material behind the sweatband looked like and he said it looked like pasteboard or something similar.

Tobias, under the hood (sweatband) photos are critical with these.
What you want to see is either celluloid or treated gauze (which are both water resistant).
The BM caps used either plain cardboard or pasteboard.

That is the extent of my understanding of these caps--I do not collect them.
