Could be one of the late(r) war foreign-made caps IMO. Not in the best of conditions - sweatband disintegrating, partly missing, stitches broken, visor loose + unusual (raw underneath, no edging) chinstrap seems to be oilcloth - no leather anyway, centerband too narrow as you noticed yourself. If the price is O.K. it is worth a thought. Better wait for the specialists for a final verdict.

These flak visor caps are not rare and I would wait for a better example.

Thank you all for your input. I'm fairly new to the visor cap side of collecting and know I have a lot to learn and to always check my assumptions. Very happy to have confirmation that there'll likely be another chance at a better one. I do have a weakness Flak related items. The very first WWII item I bought as a 12 year old was an 88mm fuse with all it's inner workings, it hooked me for life.
Again, thank you all the help. I appreciate it.
