I can't see any problems with the cap, it looks really good. I can't help with your other question so it's best to leave that to the cap experts.

    Regards, Tobias!

Appears to be the traces/remains of some cellophane or (aged) clear adhesive tape that was once wrapped around the cords.

The cap itself has a very pleasing shape.

The body of the cap seems to be original despite some specialities:
    - the seam of the mohair-band at the back (used to be at the front under the insignia) - this did exist but was not too frequent
    - the way the piping joins (overlapping) did exist as well, but wasn't too frequent either
    - the sweatband also is one of the rarer versions
    - there are empty holes and the imprints of thrads which once secured the badge visible, so there was something done there

    - the very unprofessional repair of the cord with adhesive tape (could, however, easily be correted)

The price should reflect this. As always, better wait for the specialists, they might see what I overlook.

    Thanks ErWeSa.
two or three elements on this cap seem rather rare on this one. is that a good thing? or a sign of reassembly for you?
Are there any risks for authenticity for you?

You say the poorly repair of the cord can be easily be corrected? Can you tell me more? do I have to remove the adhesive tape?
    Thanks very much.
I bought it almost 900 euros but i can return it so your comments are essential for me.

IMHO the insignia may have been replaced - how are the Schwingen attached (there is no thread to be seen inside the cap as said, just the empty holes were it once was) - I do not hope they are glued on?

The ends of the cap cords normally are secured by a thread wound around them and then the small "knot" is bound around them - here you would first have to remove the adhesive tape, then choose a strong thread (preferably grey) wind it around the ends, knot them and put the knot back on it to hide this thread. You can see here how it looks like in original cords where the knot slid so that the underneath is visible:

For the rest: all these methods did exist back then, they were not very usual but they do not make the cap more valuable, rather on the contrary, there are some people who do not like "non-textbook-style" caps. I personally wouldn't mind although € 900,- is quite a sum (but nowadays quite normal, I'm afraid).

I would wait for the specialists' advice if you should get your money back or keep the cap.
