Hi after some advice on this tropical cap please
Looks like a authentic Carl halfar but I am no expert
Seems to have the correct zig-zag stitch on the insignia.

Right at the beginning: I am no specialist for this kind of cap. At first I was taken aback by the brand new look of it. Taking a closer look I can say the the RBNr fits, the sweatband looks good, so do the air vents; the zig-zag stitching applied to the insignia is a bit wide but could still be within the norm.
Hopefully Bob Lyons will take a look at this cap.
Meanwhile you could study this (unless you know it already): (PDF) The Afrikamutze Database. A guide to the identification, context and interpretation of the German army tropical field cap, 1940–43. Part 1: The Authentic Cap. Artefact Services Research Papers 8/1
