F.-B. is THE specialist for black caps. It is a rare and late-war ErEl cap, but if F.-B. says its O.K. it is. So if the price is right (and reflects the loose visor/peak) you can surely go for it.
I can’t say that this visors are bad. I am only skeptical.
These are the only two visors I know in this combination and both are very closely with the serial number. Look at the numbers bevor and after this two visors and show me one in this combination.
Anyway this is only my opinion.

Looks like fading of the lining, it appears grey on the outer edge, and would be protected under the sweat band. A close up of the totenkopf would help in determining if it’s a was replaced with an original.
IMHO there is no yellow/gold-coloured lining - is is grey alright, but on the upper part sweat and hairoil caused some discoloration, as it did to the sweatband. Obviously this cap was worn and didn't get better by that. If you look closely you can see the discolorations also above the tag where the lining isn't protected by the sweatband.
I won the auction! Thank you all for the input. I will post pictures as soon as I have him.
Congratulation. How much was the asking price? Br

Well done! Nothing wrong with this Erel visor cap, probably made c. 1939...
Please post the cap in detail when you get a chance. Based on the observations made by Arran & ErWeSa and the previous thread with F-B I think you did well. I do however have doubts about the insignia, only because the nasal cavity on the skull looks very large and odd to me. perhaps it's just the photo but coupled with the fact that the insignia was added at a later date it needs more scrutiny.
