I'm no specialist for Schiffchen but there was a Karl Kubach Mützenfabrik in Kassel for sure, here is their 1940 addressbook entry:

Personally I like the cap but wait for the specialists' opinion.

Germans writes and says "Fabrik".. it's correctly

I’m not quite so keen, im afraid.
‘Frabrik’ sounds weird to me and there is one construction detail I am not seeing ( though it has successfully avoided most of the photographs)! A full side view and upper rear view would be useful, if you get the time...
