I'm sorry to tell you but this cap is not a WW2 cap.....
I think "1937" should be "1987".
The "B" in "Deutsches B-Patent" means "Bundes" , so it's "Deutsches Bundes Patent" and that's post-war.....

Old trick--they scrape (or cutoff) numbers to make them appear wartime. Sorry, it is a 1987 BRD Postal hat.

bittaker, Theo is correct--we are all here to help one another. If you are interested in something, post it here first before you buy.
We have all done what you just did (and believe me, made some very costly mistakes back in the day). However, with the internet, once can reduce the risk of buying a bad hat practically to zero.
