I need your help about this SS VT clothed bill cap.
So much copies in this area of collecting
The TK is a good aluminium RZM/52 DESCHELR for me but not the eagle....

I would be very careful with that one. Condition is mint. Lots of reproductions out there. It looks like it is or is trying to be one of the Mollo Hoard visors however top front of bill looks stitched which would be different. Materials also don't look quite the same as other ones posted here. Hopefully one of the experts can give their opinion.

All I can say Arthor is I've stayed away from these as I am not well enough informed to make a decision on one of these. I've never held one nor discussed with anyone how originals should be. With that bit of info I posted, I'd be terribly gun-shy to pull the trigger on one unless the visor had rock solid provenance of ownership by collectors over the years. As I just mentioned in another thread, it is a tough way to collect but I recognize it is what it is.
Thanks for your replies.
I had some doubts because some grey threads can been seen just under the black band (over the TK and left side too) and this type of sewing is not legit as I have learned ..... but who knows
When in doubt....too much money to make an error on. one thing I did notice is the outside material wrapped to the inside with the slits seen. Seems to me that that's a give away to improper production to me. it would also seem to me that the gold- yellow inside liner would cover that.
An official stamp from 39 in a fieldgrey visor with a clothed bill. I would pass on this one.
I didn't want to be the first one to make a comment on this cap, as I have never ever had one in my hands. But I do agree with the opinions of Tim030, Rich Moran and Christian56789. Yet, as said, I am no expert!
Here is what caught my eye:
The visible stitches on the bottom of the cap on didn't put me off too much - this did happen, even then sloppiness existed. What put me off was the shape (very nice Sattelform-Klappmütze which Feldmützen alter Art only very rarely were), the stamp (1939 and Alter Art???), the fabric of the bottom Vorstoß - it is very threadbare where the peak is sewn on (1) - how is this possible when the peak itself is not threadbare there (2)? (only the rim of the peak is, and should be (3)) and the sweatband which was sewn in leaving lots of material "on the other side of the seam" (4).
