    Does that really matter, it's post-1945 probably more a 1990.

    Could be for reenactment, but more likely made as a bottom up fake.

    I stopped collecting Third Reich material in the mid-70s because of the fakes even back then. I remember attending an auction in 1975 at which the catalogue had the standard "Buyer beware" proviso: "Given the large number of theater events and films about the Third Reich over the last 30 years, [name of auction house] cannot 100% guarantee the authenticity of Third Reich items for auction. However, we offer them for sale believing them to be genuine."
