Well, many of these were in fact home made. From what I can see it looks ok to me as far as the manufacture compared to some others. I cant be sure but the method or application of the fringe seems of the period.
These are just not regulation items in many cases, so angle of the runes or size or whatever can go out the window and then its just the piece itself. These were boys, and they had mothers and sisters that made these banners. Its may not be a one looker, but seems ok to me from what I can see. Some times looking at an item too hard can be more problematic than the item itself.

these dj banners were all home made and as such the vast majority differ in one way or another , unless some kids poor mother had to do a batch of them ! it also seems that the rzm when it came into force could not be bothered to force regulations on the making size etc etc of these dj banners ...take a peak at the 2 pics below and look at the runes ...differant again !! i have observed these dj banners in vastly differant sizes and with differant fringe as well ....hell some even have fringe on all 4 sides !

the fotos are not mine, they are images i have lifted elsewhere online ....these would start at $600/700 i suspose then more for double sided runes and examples with towns and units added even more
