IMO, a fake.
As far as I know, this is the only style produced in the 1944 year.
Gausieger 1944 coppy or original?

Thx Ralf I was digging deeper as well I think you are right,cause 1944 only Brehmer was making awards for finalists,Tham could be 38/39 not 44!Thx for your time and help Ralph!

Not only that, the construction in 1944 was different. They were stamped zinc only, and painted.
