Article about: Looking good. Thanks for the update photos. Yes the straps were expensive, but try to find another set, not easy.

It is an SA tunic. The giveaway are the lower pockets. The SA version had pockets like yours whereas the HJ version had bellows pockets.
I would agree with this. Definitely SA.

I had not seen this thread before. I would not be so sure, as the pockets for an SA tunic
are quite different as the shown tunic.
Here some drawings from the 1936 RZM manufacturing
    regulations:

SA-Dienstrock, as well as Dienstrock Politische Leiter

    HJ Dienstrock

    HJ-Dienstrock II

I should have a look about how the cut was in 1934 or so,
or with a later date as for excample 1938.

    This is the 1934 HJ-tunic:

I did check with the 1938 RZM manufacturing regulations
and globally the SA, political leaders and HJ tunics were the
same as in 1936. The HJ-version shown in 1938 was with
    II from 1936.

Thank Wim for posting the RZM drawings, that makes it clear to see that this particular one is the HJ-Dienstrock II

This one was on auction at HH
described as: A tunic for an HJ Oberstammführer with Gebietsstab 22 in Bayreuth private purchase piece

I cannot see it Gerrit, but the number with the shoulder-straps should be 22.
The triangle was issued since December 1942 and it lacks a HJ armband.
For me it is strange there are no loops for decorations, which a person with
the appropriate rank surely will have had.

It indeed is an Oberstammführer (4 pips and one smaller braid).

For me the tunic is "pimped"! The triangle looks to me well used.

I do not know what to think of the braid beneath the triangle.
The color looks strange to me (see here some samples from
my HJ handbook). But maybe this is just my idea!
