Which ones...the Chinese seller or the two Canadian sellers ? The two Canadian sellers items for sale can be accessed by doing a seller name search on E-Bay. The Chinese seller details, "militaria_lee" of "rzmmilitaria" to be fair the Chinese seller does state they are reproductions....the Canadian sellers are a bit more elusive, leaving for you to interpret their description ! It is really about what happens when they are passed on into the collector world at a later date
    Prost ! Steve.

Thanks Steve. Well done on the research! While not a 57er collector, it's always educational and enlightening...if not down right scary...to see what crap is being produced and peddled. Nothing is safe anymore

Gentlemen, another fake that has appeared recently, usually on E-Bay Germany is this "Ritterkreuz des Kriegsverdienstkreuz o.Schwertern" Knights Cross of the War Merits Cross with out Swords....................this reproduction is good ! it is very good !!! It is presently being discussed on a couple of sites over its alarming authentic appearance, even prompting a collector friend of mine to purchase one (knowing it to be a fake) in order to study it fully...I will report back with his findings...........the only thing that gives this piece away is in my opinion is its lack lustre finish, which is similar to late St u L RK's ! This repro is also available "with Swords".
    Prost ! Steve.

A seller on E-Bay Germany, every 57er he has for sale is crap, being cast or otherwise, most have solid hinge blocks a worrying sign ! it would appear the current fakers have cottoned on to these types being early production and therefore worth more !...some even with WW2 markings on rear, which 57er's did not have......stay away from this seller...... "gelegenheitsembargo" here are a sample of his wares !...... I show..Auxillery Cruiser Badge, Blockade Runners Badge and Luftwaffe PAB.
    Prost ! Steve.
p.s. if you wish to view his auctions, just search his user name and then items for sale...........

A well known fake 1957 Knights Cross is the so called "Morigi fake", it is a very good copy of a second core 57er RK made in the U.K. for Nicholas Morigi some years ago and still sold by his firm today for around £80 at "The Regalia Specialist" OFFERING THE BEST SELECTION OF FINE QUALITY REPLICA AWARDS & INSIGNIA SINCE 1975. ALL THE AWARDS AND INSIGNIA IN THIS WEB SITE ARE IN STOCK! Morigi sells them as reproductions, so no problem there.....however after they leave Morigi's they are often sold on as original 57er RK's ! These Morigi 57er RK's are good, but not that good, the dipping ring feature is way too thick when compared to the original St u L piece it emulates...but the big give away are the details of the acorns or lack of it ! On an original St u L RK the acorn cups have hatch detail, on the Morigi fake they are smooth like the acorn kernal, and the font for "1939" and "1813" is not as chunky as a St u L original. ...They have a non magnetic core as on the last St u L "D" frame crosses. There is one on E-Bay U.K. now, being sold as an original for £399 by seller "a anderson" here in the U.K. I have messaged him as to its originality, I await his reply.........
Here are the photographs of his Morigi cross....the last photograph shows the correct "acorn" detail on an original St u L second core RK, and then a first core RK, for comparison purposes.......
    Prost ! Steve.

Regarding the cross above offered by a anderson on E-Bay.....this is his reply to my message advising him on his cross....

    "Dear Sir,
Thanks for your time. Let me disagree a bit. I know the Morigi crosses very well and I can guarantee that this example is not one of them. If it is a fake – which I doubt –, it is definitely not a Morigi.
I would say this is a late production St&L made in the early 1980's. As you are very well aware, Steinhauer & Luck apparently stopped production of the RK around 1986...however it is today still offered in their price lists. Steinhauer & Luck offered the Knights Cross both solid silver frames marked 800 and non marked plated frames during the life of its production.....
If you check a B type St&L, you will see that the acorn cup is smooth on the core....
    Best regards
    Andrew"
Apparently this dealer knows something about these 57er RK's.......but not a lot !
Having checked my collection of seven St u L 57er RK's, the "B" "C" & "D" framed both first & second core versions, not one has a smooth acorn cup as suggested by Herr anderson ! (which as you guessed I already knew) His is a Morigi fake no matter how he dresses it up ! you have been warned. Looking through his 1957 awards for sale, it appears it is all late open hinge stuff wildly overpriced !
    Prost ! Steve.

Gentlemen..........A pair of 57er Marine clasps are presently on sale on E-Bay U.S.A. I doubt the seller is aware they are fakes, so no name and shame..........but their construction is text book fake, that is why I show them....these are at the bottom end of the fake scale as opposed to the high end copies I have previously shown, but they still catch people out !
Cast production, not bad from the front, but the rears reveal all ! heavy pock marking from a poor casting technique, remember NO 1957 AWARD WAS EVER CAST they are all die stamped......although the fastening hardware is kind off reminiscent of Souval and Deumer, the rough casting is the obvious give away..............the last two photographs show a genuine "Marine clasp" for comparison......
    Prost ! Steve.

A massive thumbs down to this seller on E-Bay Canada "Minniespleasures77" theres nothing pleasurable about everything this buggers got for sale ! All repro crap ! although fails to tell you that in his description, it is rather implied that the the items are genuine, not only 57ers here but other items including repro TR caps...I suspect "Minniespleasures77" is also trading as "loveisallaround12" as his products are exactly as shown on this sellers auction page see post #8 of this thread......and I suspect a fair bit of schilling is going on here ! Nobody gets a bargain ! THESE SELLERS TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS !!!!!
    Prost ! Steve.

more............this seller on E-Bay "loveisallaround12" proudly states in his auction pages "No Cheap Eastern European Reproduction Junk - You will see the difference when you hold these unbelievable items in Hands, compare with the rest and then get THE BEST !" his spiel is incredible...............
Unfortunately they are cheap Eastern Asian reproduction junk
! again sourced probably from China....people are buying these ! Again the big give away is that they are always maker marked....including "Godet" a maker who never got involved in 57er production ! and many are fantasy. This is just a sample of his wares....check out his seller pages, its a gas as our American cousins would say.................U Boat badge and RK Golden Oaks/Swords with diamonds....and his version of a DGiS !
    Prost ! Steve.
In spite of the horrible fakes, this made me laugh.
    Thanks for an interesting thread.
