A small collection of Bundesheer stuff, a lot of it I've collected during my time in the austrian army.

    - 2 rank tabs for a Major, 3 tabs for a Hauptmann for the KaZ 75/03
    - 2 tabs for an officer of the Panzerjäger woren on the so called ,,A-Garnitur"/evening dress (The Waffenfarbe isn't existing anymore)
    - 2 dogtags, an old one and the current version
    - 4 Wehrdienstmedaillen for 6 months of military duty
    - A patch for the A-Garnitur from Carinthia/Kärnten
    - A cord for an officer's cap of the Luftwaffe

    Best regards

Hi everyone, I'm putting together an ad hoc 1980s Bundesheer kit and I need a bit of advice. I've seen photographs of both the earlier leather harness + belt, and for later what seems to be an American M1967 harness + pistol belt. I cant afford or really find any M1959 pea dot clothing, so I've decided to use the OD clothing with pea dot camo of whatever I can find (e.g. I have the camo canteen and shovel covers). My question is, for this sort of kit, which would be the most accurate harness + belt to use? I really cant seem to find much material on it online.

I would appreciate any help with this!

    Hi FinMC,

when I was in the Austrian Army in the 1980ies we had the woven belt (with plastic clasp) and harness in OD - with the old leather ammo-pouches mounted, as we were issued the StG 58.

Perhaps you know these sources already, but anyway:

Does the bread bag also connect to the belt by D clips on belt loops, like the canteen?

I don't know what the d-clips were for, but obviously you could also attach a strap with which you could hang it round your shoulder. Perhaps the older ÖBH specialists can help here.

The Austrian army has a new commander in chief and he seems to have taste what concerns caps:

The Bundesheer, the modern Austrian Army.

    compare to regulation caps:

There are, however, also specialists among the lowest officer-ranks (Fähnrich) - the man in the middle wears a non-regulation cap with a Vulkanfiber-peak (unless there are meanwhile regulations allowing this I don't know of).

Anyway, nice to see that it is still possible to order caps which differ from the norm.
