    Hello gentlemen,

today I acquired this fieldcap on a flea market in Hamburg.

The fabric on the outside is velvet like and field grey.
On the front is a triangle in the German colours Black Red and Yellow.
The liner is made from blue cotton.

The construction looks handmade, especially the insignia, as it is made crudely from very different material.

It's a smaller size, similar to most WW2 caps.

Could it be some kind of early postwar police or border guard cap?

Maybe it helps to know, that the seller had many Swiss and southern german pieces for sale, maybe the cap is also from the southern part of Germany.

Has anyone ever seen a cap or insignia like that?

Any information on the piece would be great!

Thanks and greetings from northern Germany!

Definitely not Bundesgrenzschutz or Bundeswehr of any era.
As you yourself state , it looks home made !

    Thanks for your reply!
Maybe it's for some local early postwar organisation...
I believe I have seen this kind of triangular insignia somewhere a long time ago, but I can't remember the context unfortunately.

Maybe someone has already seen something like that.

On a Facebook group someone said, it has similarities to a cap of the Reichsbanner Schwarz Rot Gold.
I see what he means, but I'm not sure ...
At least the location would fit, as I found The Cap in Hamburg, wich has been a hotspot for the Reichsbanner.

Would you mind if I post the cap again in the Weimar section, or would that be considered spamming?
