West German gas mask dated 1958 with cannister

here is my West German gas mask with metal storage canister, the mask is mfg by DRAGER and dated Feb 1958, the carrying can is marked AUER and has extra gas mask lenses stored under the lid, would this be the correct mask worn by West German Police Forces & BGS? or Civil Defense like luftschutz? anti aircraft defense

I don't know enough about these masks. Eager to see response from others. Did these cans have the rubber gasket and retainer rings? NH
