yes its a US made M-1 & i would say post war maybe from the 60's onwards from the colour of the finish.

1960's M-1's are slightly lower in profile compared to WW2 ones as for the finish WW2 M-1s had what was called corking, basically ground up cork mixed in the paint to give it a rough dull finish the colour was normally a darker OD green to what the one you have also yours looks to have the sand/silica finish which gives it an almost sandpaper type feel to it.
