Article about: Hello, I wanted to ask you about the originality of this mosquito-type helmet cover. I am not very knowledgeable on this subject and I am sure that one of you can help me. All the best.

Well if books are anything to go by,Mark Reynos'a post war M1 Helmet a study does not feature these covers so I think most believe they are of ww2 origin and stocks we're utilized through Korea and Vietnam.

I have not found any evidence that this type of helmet covers was manufactured after the WWII. According to other sources (e.g. usmilitariaforum.com) USMC mosquito net covers for the M1 helmet were made during the war and relatively large stock left after this conflict was still in use until the Vietnam war. And is still available today for fair prices on the market.
USMC camo net wasn't as common as standard helmet cover, however seen combat actions starting from Tarawa (many wartime photos are available in the net as well as in books - e.g. Glen Harlan's "United States Marine Corps Uniforms, Insignia and Personal Items of World War II").

Hi guys, with the prices of helmet covers rising & rising, the mosquito net / helmet cover is still an affordable price for a Duck Hunter camo pattern. Here's mine on a steel pot. Enjoy. Jack

I pulled mine from a £1 pile at Beltring, maybe 8-10 years ago or so.

Here's some photos I found in an eBay listing. I have not actually seen the date tag/label before. Has anyone else seen this label before?
