Article about: Hello guys, my first M1 helmet is finally home, it's a Christmas gift from my truly best friend from US. I want to say thanks to him, by this way I found some information about this helmet,

    Hello guys, my first M1 helmet is finally home, it's a Christmas gift from my truly best friend from US. I want to say thanks to him, by this way
    I found some information about this helmet, hope they are real ( The 321st Glider Field Artillery Battalion (GFAB) - Unit History )
    If somebody have some information about this helmet for example producer, some information about liner, etc. i will be happy for it

    Nice Helmet!

    The Liner ist made by Westinghouse.

    Otherwise there should be a stamp on the screen above the eyes. This allows you to identify the shell manufacturer and narrow down the production period.
    Can you post a picture of it?

    Thanks for this info, sleepwalker ;-)
    Maybe I'm blinde, but I don't found there any marking, need to look closer after I'll came home.. i think it's under paint

    Production year for the shell should be 1944. swivel loops + front seam rim.
    the heat stamp on the lid would help narrow this though.

    EDIT: whatever you do, do NOT scrape paint away to reveal the heat number if its under paint.

    To me the shell looks like it's a Schlueter I could be wrong? but it does look like one. Markings in the shell can be very tricky to see, take a closer in this area.
