    The helmet itself is a 1950's McCord heat stamped "M-31B".
    The liner is from the Firesone and probably from the early 1960s.

    The cover is sewn like a normal helmet cover, with 6 drawstrings and openings for camouflage material.

    The carrier name in the liner reads "JAMES P. MAGLEY" Servicenumber: 16691076. The name tag is sewn into the sweatband.
    Could it be that the 16 here stand for the states of Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin?

    That's just an incredible set up Sleepwalker,the overall condition of each part is exquisite but the silk cover is rarely seen and fits so perfectly too.you have some really nice post war M1 examples in your collection.always photographed to perfection as always.PS 1963 Firestone liner from one of five contracts issued in 1962/63.

    Very cool lid and cover. I originally thought it was a piece from a parachute or other. But the cover was made for it. Very interesting item.

    Sweet set up. Never seen a silk camo cover before.

    Beautiful lid and setup. I haven’t seen a cover like this before but I must say it’s cool.

    Great helmet and photos! First time I have ever seen a silk cover and tag like that.
