US M1 Helmet and Liner opinions please

Article about: Hey guys I just picked this one up today. I think its a McCord, front seam swivel bail and heat stamp is 834K and it has a funky Blue Westinghouse 106 marked Liner. It has 2 old bullet dings

At least it was cheap mate , just get on the lookout for a liner to suit.
A very weird arse combo all round.
PS You have very big hands lol

Lol at the big hands, they get in my way sometimes. Ha
Yeah that whole helmet and liner is a connundrum. Not one of my best purchases but I don't have a lot of US stuff since I collect TR mostly. Just trying to add a few US items to even it out some.

It does have stress fractures, at least one I saw on back.
Stress fractures at rear sides are common on early WW2 M1's not due to impact but a later found manufacturing fault at the time.

Here is a pic of the Helmet with the not so well done stars. Its not a Gen as I said earlier in the thread, its Admiral Harry Smith at Tarawa 1943. Not sure I have ever seen such large insignia on a helmet like that.
