WW2 US McCord Radiator front seamed fixed looped shell and korean period Capac Liner both items have been converted for use outside the US most likely Norway or Denmark but that's a guess.riveted chinstraps and enlarged rivets holding liner "A" washers in place.and liner webbing changed out also.
Possibly for Egyptian Army use, judging by the painted markings inside (just a guess), but I certainly don’t imagine any connection to El Alamein!
As far as the available sources indicate - US M1 helmets used in North Africa (starting from the November 1942) had standard painting, typical for this equipment when leaving the producer's line. The only one exemption was application of yellow ocher stains on helmets by 2/503rd P.I.R during the Torch operation.
